Stephanie Buckley
ABOUT
Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Performer’s Certificate, Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, as well as a Master’s degree in International Studies (East Asian Studies).
She was based in New York for over 15 years, performing professionally in opera and musical theater, with a career spanning several decades. She appeared in the Lincoln Center premiere of Black Water (John Duffy / Joyce Carol Oates), with additional performances in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, and a recording with LA Theatre Works. She also performed as soprano soloist on The Redeemer (Tantara Records).
Since relocating to Taiwan, she has served as vocal coach for The Lamb of God (Rob Gardner), with performances over four years in Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, and Kaohsiung, and as project manager and vocal coach for the recording of over 300 Chinese hymns for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Stephanie’s teaching focuses on developing resonant classical vowels, legato line, and efficient breath coordination, helping singers build a reliable technique for both classical and contemporary repertoire.
Repertoire is tailored to each student’s goals, including opera and oratorio arias, operetta, musical theater, and popular music. She also offers audition preparation workshops for students pursuing vocal studies in Taiwan and abroad.
A native English speaker, she also teaches in Mandarin, helping students build a solid vocal foundation and expressive musical communication.
