Yu-Sen Chu
ABOUT
Music has always been my best companion in life, inseparable from me every step of the way. As time passes, music reveals itself in various forms, yet one thing remains unchanged—the passion we shared from the very moment we first met.
Vocalist Chu Yu-Sheng is one of the most active vocal artists in Taiwan, renowned for his extensive performance and teaching experience both domestically and internationally. At the age of 15, his performance of The Queen of the Night brought him fame, with online videos amassing over a million views. His success led to invitations from The Voice of China and numerous Taiwanese TV programs, launching his journey into classical crossover and bel canto. Currently, he serves as the Music Director of the Chain Maker Ensemble, a brand ambassador for the Italian luxury brand Kiton, and the vocal coach for the Zhiyin Choir under the Bliss and Wisdom Foundation.
Singing is not merely about talent; it requires a deep passion for music and a commitment to continuous learning and self-awareness. For singers, the body is their instrument. Understanding how the body works allows us to release the tension and compensations that often affect the voice.
In my classes, I aim to help students grasp the physiological structure of the voice (breathing, vocal cords, resonance, and the operation of vowels and consonants), develop healthy vocal practice habits, establish effective steps for learning repertoire, and acquire techniques to balance body and mind on stage. By observing the interplay between the body and voice, students can achieve healthy vocal usage and ultimately sing freely and joyfully.
