Bach's "French Suite in G Major": Allemande
"Back to Bach"
The speaker for the harpsichord concert and workshop, harpsichordist Machiko Sudo, performs in the video the Allemande from J.S. Bach's "French Suite in G Major.
" This well-known piece sounds quite different when played on the harpsichord, doesn’t it?
Trailer I.
On October 14, join us for a harpsichord concert presented by Machiko Sudo:
The teacher will prepare works from Bach's youth, as well as pieces by Pachelbel, Froberger, Buxtehude, and many others. These composers not only influenced the young Bach but also shaped his musical style.
Trailer II.
J.S. Bach came from a musical family and was influenced from childhood by his father, Johann Ambrosius Bach, and his older brother, Johann Christoph Bach. Later, the choir, school teachers, instrumental masters, as well as the nobles and contemporary musicians who appreciated him, all had a profound impact on J.S. Bach's musical compositions.
Who exactly influenced Bach and his creations? Baroque music is not solely defined by Bach's works. The harpsichord concert and workshop "Back to Bach" will take everyone back to the Baroque period to explore the important musicians of that time.
